Here are some commonly asked questions:

What areas do you cover?
We gig mostly in County Wexford, and neighbouring counties such as Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Kildare and Wicklow. We do however offer a nationwide service.

How can i get a quote?
To check our availability, and receive a personal quote, simply ring or email Alan with the following details:

1. Event date
2. Venue location
3. Dj start/finish times
4. Number of guests attending (to get a idea of your sound & lighting requirements)
5. Any other special requirements

We also have a online quote facility where you can enter your details online right now and get a
instant price quote (click on blue).  We will then check our availability for you, and get back to you regarding your date as soon as is possible.

Does your quote include dj equipment hire?
Yes. We have just taken delivery in Feb 2010 of a new 2000 watt sound system from QSC Audio, suitable for upto 350 guests. QSC are industry leaders in concert sound systems in the USA. We also bring a suitable lighting system.

How soon can i book?
We are currently accepting bookings for 2010/11.  We only take 1 wedding per night. Bookings are taken on a first come, first served basis. Once we are gone, we are gone! Saturday would always be the most requested day, followed by Friday, Thursday and Monday (especially bank holiday ones).

To make a booking, simply call or email Alan to check availability. If you would like to proceed with a booking, we usually take a deposit of €50 or €100 for full evening receptions, with the balance payable on the night. Once we have received your deposit, we will post you out a confirmation letter, and also set up a account for you at our website. Deposit cheques/drafts/postal orders can be made payable to "DJ Hire" and posted to us at our contact address.

We hold provisional bookings without a deposit for 2 weeks. We would not consider ourselves booked unless a deposit has been paid, and a confirmation letter has been posted out before the wedding.

We would always suggest to you to get written confirmation, when booking any service for your wedding. Dj Hire is registered with the Companies Registration Office (Registration No. 171516) at Dublin Castle.

What time does the music usually start?
If you were sitting down for your evening meal at 6pm, it would usually be 9.30pm when your entertainment would start, and you would be called for your first dance. Most bands will do a two or two and a half hour set, with a short break for evening refreshements. The Dj would usually play from 12am to 2am depending on finishing times at your venue.

What time will you arrive?
We are always at your venue at least one hour and fifteen minutes before our agreed start time, and in most cases, it only takes us 20 minutes to set up.
When we are playing after a band, we will always try and set up to the side of the band (subject to space) so as soon as they finish their set, we can start immediately and keep the party going.

We will always contact you the week of your wedding, to confirm start/finish times and discuss any last minute changes/requests.

What music do you play?
We carry a wide variety of music to suit everybody attending your event. We normally suggest playing a good party mix of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s & today to ensure your guests enjoy themselves as much as you, on your special day.

We also have a exciting feature here called "Jukebox Live" where our clients can access our music collection online, pick their own favourite songs and compile a personal playlist, which we will gladly play for them on their special night.

We were the first people in Ireland to offer this online service to our customers. Since then other dj's suppliers have followed our lead. Whilst we have gone through each individual cd in our collection and catalogued all the track listings on it, please be warned some other operators are using a generic american list, listing thousands of more songs which they may not actually have in their collection (a good way to check is to put in a popular irish song like "galway girl" or "brewing up a storm" and see if they have it in their collection too). To date, we have added about 4000 songs to our database.  Click here for more info
